Analysis of Mobile Commerce Value Chain

The opportunities offered by the Internet have already fuelled immense growth of E-commerce. In recent years, due to the rapid evolution of wireless and mobile communication technologies, mobile commerce becomes another crucial application. In china, the 3G telecommunication era is coming. As to the brilliant prospect for m-commerce, many industries expect to join this arena. The mobile commerce value chain is then formed. This paper analyses the major players and technologies that form part of the M-commerce value chain. Also it figures out that mobile telecommunication operators are the most crucial members on this value chain. As a result, this paper attempts to investigate the challenges for mobile telecommunication operators and described that the operators must adopt the innovation strategies to unleash the potential of the value chain.
